A Loungewear and Nightwear Supplier Portfolio Website
The Challenge
The Goal
To create a functional mobile- friendly website based on the user research provided by Somerbond.
A responsive website that showcases the apparel as well as providing buyers and suppliers key information to encourage sales and new business opportunities.
The Process
My process was to take the user goals and branding to create solutions to the user stories. Then plan how the product would function through user work flows which would help define the interactions in the wireframing and mockup phases.

Card Sorting
I asked the users to sort through the different categories the website should be split into. Through this face-to-face card sorting I was able to question the users on any additional information they felt needed to be included.

I came up with a persona based on the interviews. The persona gave me a better understanding of who the customers are which allowed me to create a user experience that targeted their needs.

About

Joanne is a full-time Junior Nightwear Buyer who lives in London. She is a fashionista that keeps up-to-date with the latest trends and is very active on social media. She is keen to take on more responsibility in her role and hopefully become Head Buyer.

Goals

-
Finding new suppliers to present to the Head Buyer.
-
Finding a supplier that offers a unique signature but has the capacity to fit the company brand.
-
Finding a supplier that can offer a variety of designs and licenses.

Frustrations

-
Not knowing exactly what a supplier has to offer.
-
Limited view on portfolio of recent products produced.
-
Having to sort through dull websites that don't provide adequate information to keep her interested.
Ideating A Solution
With the information I gathered from the user test and persona, I began sketching possible solutions to each of the pain points and created wireframes and a new IA.
Testing and Perfecting
-
I conducted testing throughout the project and was able to make appropriate changes to fit the user needs.

-
Overall I feel the website is now more responsive. For future projects I plant carry out face-to-face card sorting and interviews as I was able to get more information from the users that I might not have been able to obtain had I not had the physical interaction.
